Side by side, on your computer

Compare two PDFs

Drop two PDFs. They stay on your computer.

Compare PDF shows two files page by page: A on the left, B on the right, with a shared page number. An overlay slider is there if you want to peek through. Page-count mismatch is called out. Nothing is uploaded. There is no server diff and no legal redline of the text.

Use it to spot a moved paragraph or a swapped figure. For merging the winner, open Merge or Organize next. Close the tab and the working files are gone.

They stay on your computer. Nothing is uploaded.

How to compare PDFs in your browser

  1. Drop PDF A and PDF B. Each stays in this tab.
  2. Step through pages. Side by side is the default; try the slider if you want.
  3. A different page count is shown plainly.
  4. Nothing to download unless you then organize or merge a copy.

Compare PDFs without uploading

Document-diff websites send both files to a server. This page renders them with PDF.js beside you. You will not get a tracked-changes XML. You get eyes-on pixels.

Questions

Is this a legal redline of the text?

No. It is a visual compare. Word-level legal markup needs a different kind of tool.

What if the two PDFs have different page counts?

We say so. Extra pages on one side have no pair.

Are the two files uploaded to diff them?

No. PDF.js draws them locally. Close the tab and the working files are gone.

Can I download a highlighted diff?

Not from this page. Compare with your eyes, then organize or merge a new copy.

Why won’t an encrypted PDF compare?

Unlock it on your computer first. This tab cannot read it.
