# Sign a PDF

> Sign a PDF in your browser. Draw, type, or stamp a PNG, then flatten it onto the page. No upload, no account. Not a digital certificate.

A visual mark, on your computer

Sign PDF here means: draw a name, type one, or drop a PNG, then flatten that mark onto the pages you choose. The signature becomes page content. Someone later cannot drag it off like a live form widget. Work stays in this browser. You download signed.pdf. The file on disk is unchanged.

This is not a legal digital certificate and not PAdES. It will not prove identity the way a qualified e-sign does. It is a picture of a signature, useful for a scan that just needs a name in the corner. Unlock password-protected PDFs on your computer first. Close the tab and the working files are gone.

Free. There is no paid tier. No account. They stay on your computer. Nothing is uploaded.

## How to sign a PDF in your browser

1. Drop one PDF. It is read in this tab, never uploaded.
2. Draw on the pad, type a name, or pick a transparent PNG of a signature.
3. Drag the mark on the preview. Snap a corner if you prefer. Choose this page, all pages, or a selection.
4. Sign PDF and download. The original on disk stays as it is.

## Sign PDF without uploading

Upload e-sign products store the document and often the certificate. This page never receives the file. You also will not get identity proofing, audit trails, or a cryptographic signature. If you need those, use a proper signing service. If you need a name in the margin, stay here.

## Questions

### Is this a legally binding electronic signature?

No. This is a visual signature flattened into the page, not a digital certificate or PAdES. It does not prove who signed.

### Can someone drag the signature off later?

The mark is drawn into the page content, not left as a moveable widget. A determined editor can still cover or crop it.

### Do I need an account to sign a PDF here?

No. There is no sign-up. The work runs in this browser.

### Why won’t a password-protected PDF sign?

Encrypted files cannot be opened here. Unlock them on your computer first.

### Will signing change my original PDF?

No. You download a new file. The PDF you dropped stays on disk.
