# Save each PDF page as its own file

> Split a PDF into one file per page in your browser. Multi-page results download as a ZIP. No upload, no account.

One page, one PDF, then a ZIP

Some portals want page 1, page 2, and page 3 as separate uploads. This split explodes the document into one file per page and downloads a ZIP when there is more than one result. The work stays in this tab.

Free. There is no paid tier. No account. They stay on your computer. Nothing is uploaded.

## When to use this

Use this when a site wants one PDF per page: photo uploads that secretly expect “page1.pdf”, court e-filing that splits exhibits, or a printer queue that hates an 80-page file.

“One PDF per page” is selected. Several files download as a ZIP so the browser is not flooded with save dialogs. If you only need a range kept together, use [Extract pages](https://lovethispdf.com/extract-pdf-pages.md) instead.

## How to do it

1. Drop the PDF. Page count is detected locally.
2. Leave “One PDF per page” selected. Range typing is hidden in that mode.
3. Split. Two or more pages download as a ZIP of PDFs.
4. Unzip and upload the files the form asked for.

## Tips

- Filenames follow the source plus a page number so you can match them to the form fields.
- A 200-page explode will stress the tab. Extract a chapter first if you can.
- Need images instead of PDFs? Export pages as JPG.

## Questions

### Why a ZIP instead of 40 downloads?

Browsers throttle repeated save dialogs. One ZIP is the practical way to hand you many PDFs.

### Does this delete pages from the original?

No. You get new single-page files. The source PDF is untouched.

### Is the ZIP built on a server?

No. JSZip runs in this tab. Nothing is uploaded.
