# Sign a PDF without uploading it

> Sign a PDF in your browser. Draw, type, or stamp a PNG and flatten it onto the page. No upload. Not a legal digital certificate.

A visual mark, flattened here

Draw a name, type one, or drop a PNG, then flatten that mark onto the page. This is not a digital certificate. The work stays in this tab. You download a new file.

Free. There is no paid tier. No account. They stay on your computer. Nothing is uploaded.

## When to use this

Use this when a scan just needs a name in the corner, not a certificate. Draw, type, or drop a PNG. The mark is flattened into the page.

This is not PAdES and not a legally binding e-sign product. Anyone with an editor can still cover the mark. For a password, use Protect PDF after.

## How to do it

1. Drop the PDF. It stays in this tab.
2. Draw, type a name, or pick a transparent PNG.
3. Drag the mark. Choose this page, all pages, or a selection.
4. Sign and download. The original on disk is unchanged.

## Tips

- Bottom-right is the usual spot for a letter.
- A PNG with a transparent background sits cleaner than a photo of a napkin.
- Flattened means it is page ink, not a live widget you can drag off.
